System Will Provide True Unified Communications Nationwide for gee-fon
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) June 18, 2004 -- gee-fon® has agreed to install CenturiSoft’s unified messaging system on its awarding-winning Internet telephone service.
Centuri Messenger will bring new features to gee-fon giving it a complete array of messaging services including:
o integrated voice mail
o message transfer
o call forwarding
o call screening
o bridging
o conferencing
o receiving faxes
o call return from a voice mail box
o call recording with the simple tap of a button
CenturiSoft’s unified messaging enables the Internet-based gee-fon to use the messaging functions with any other telephone, including standard phones, cell phones and other Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones.
“We chose CenturiSoft because of its seamless fit with our network and our services,” said Rene Tuerlings, president of Phoenix Telnet. “It brings the features and capabilities that our customers need and want. During our testing, I’ve been impressed with the quality and reliability of Centuri Messenger. With all these capabilities, gee-fon is unmatched in features.”
“Choosing to place these features in the network means that as new capabilities are added they will be immediately available to gee-fon users,” said John Pope, president of CenturiSoft. “This will help improve communications and to reduce costs. Ultimately, we want to revolutionize the way people communicate. Our unified messaging platform, combined with gee-fon’s Internet base, puts people back in control of their communications in ways they have never before experienced.”
gee-fon’s network and services are designed to be simple and efficient, said Barry Porter, director of enhanced services product development. “gee-fon is committed to delivering enhanced services that no one else can match,” he said. “We look at our model as one of ‘centricity.’ Our users can take services and features off the network shelf as they need them. When they are finished, the option goes back on the shelf automatically. This is not only cost effective, but the very definition of simplicity.”
Phoenix Telnet launched its gee-fon service earlier this year and was named “Best of Show” at the Internet Telephony Conference and Expo in Miami. The service has been steadily expanding its customer base in the United States and Canada. gee-fon services can be used with any Internet connection -- dial-up, cable modem, digital subscriber line (DSL) or broadband wireless (Wi-Fi). gee-fon can send to and receive calls from any other communications devices including standard telephones, cellular or other Internet phones. The voice quality is superior to cell phones, and since the user is connected to the Internet, it doesn’t suffer from dropped calls or poor reception as most cell phones do.
